Commercial Estimator in Winnipeg, Manitoba For Sale

Our client is a highly reputable, locally owned and operated company specializing in commercial, light industrial drywall and painting. They are seeking an Estimator for their drywall, commercial and industrial painting services.Reporting to the President, the role will primarily create bids for capital construction contract tender(s) and look for new opportunities that benefit the employer organization.Responsibilities- Review proposals, specifications and drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates.- Provide scheduling for estimates and projects, and perform complete estimates on selected projects consisting of project site visit, quantity take-off, pricing, and presentation of the estimate for management review.- Contact subcontractors and suppliers for pricing within estimates.- Review/research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) as required.- Create, send and manage subcontractors request and proposals and recommend best solution based on cost.- Seek new opportunities to bid on future workQualifications- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating;- Ability to interpret blueprints;- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail;- Excellent understanding of modern construction practices;- Strong mathematical skills.- Better than average negotiating skills (potential customers and suppliers)- Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating computer software- Demonstrated knowledge of construction rules and regulations- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)This is a full time, permanent position.
