Reporting to the President, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of our Hospital, the Chief Nursing Officer & Executive Director, Clinical Programs, is responsible for ensuring the professional performance of nurses within the hospital is congruent with the Nursing scope of practice and the necessary supports are in place for optimal practice within the patient care teams, including direct responsibility for specific nursing departments or services, supporting Nursing-specific and interdisciplinary clinical practice, evaluation and research, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and communications with leadership, staff and agencies. As Chief Nursing Officer & Executive Director, Clinical Programs you will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the Nursing profession while monitoring, facilitating, evaluating, and supporting Nursing clinical practice and education. You will oversee the operations of the clinical programs at the hospital, with emphasis on program goals, objectives and deliverables. While supporting Lean Transformation initiatives identified by the Leadership Team, you will establish and maintain processes to evaluate and monitor existing corporate plans, goals and objectives. You will manage the performance of individual program team members and provide leadership to and promote/support active Nursing-Specific and interdisciplinary research. You will ensure proper Nursing representation on relevant committees, working groups and projects and participate as a full and equal member of the Clinical Programs Leadership Team. In addition to communicating relevant information, decisions and directives throughout the hospital, you will maintain effective and collaborative relationships with the WRHA as well as facilitate positive communications with educational institutions and regulatory bodies. While ensuring the Hospital’s core values, principles and code of conduct are current, relevant, communicated and applied, you will establish, maintain, and monitor effective frameworks, processes and guidelines for the establishment as well as ensure a framework exists and processes are undertaken to develop and implement plans, goals, and objectives.
